Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest – suicide bereavement liaison

We're seeking a suicide bereavement liaison to join our Grief in Pieces: Support for Suicide Loss team. Grief in Pieces is part of the Safe Connections partnership and is a dedicated support service for anyone in North East London who has been impacted by suicide loss. We're looking for a qualified, creative individual, with the experience and passion for working with children, young people and families affected by bereavement.

What you'll do

In this role you'll:

• Deliver one-to-one therapeutic support to children, young people and families
• Lead on the planning, preparation, delivery and debriefing of therapeutic groups for children, young people and families
• Work with the staff team to develop robust service procedures and systems
• Work closely with senior management to ensure that interventions are guided by the BACP practice guidelines and trauma informed principles

About you

We're looking for someone with:

• Qualification in counselling, psychotherapy or creative therapy
• Relevant training and/or experience in bereavement and loss
• Experience working with families/children and young people
• Recognised registration/accreditation with UKCP/BACP/HCPC
• Experience of working with children and young people in a therapy role
• Knowledge of the impact of being bereaved by suicide for children, young people and families
• In-depth knowledge of the theories underpinning grief counselling
