About the role

Supporting residents of Harrow who are experiencing mental health difficulties and their carers

To offer emotional, practical support and signposting on Mind in Harrow’s Information Service and Support & Wellbeing Information Service Harrow (SWiSH) between opening hours 9am and 5pm Mon-Fri, excluding public holidays.

Providing listening support to callers, signposting options on the phone, via email or post to callers on local and national services relating to mental health problems, keeping relevant records of calls and helpline administration, assessing the safety of callers and alerting Senior Staff.

Volunteer benefits include: 3 days Helpline Training, Mandatory Training – Safeguarding, Service User Involvement, PREVENT, Equality and Diversity.  Helpline/mental health experience, involvement in Mind in Harrow events and fundraising.
