This St David's day, join us at the Norwegian Church in Cardiff Bay for the annual Welsh music gig – Pipe UP 2014.

Welsh Music Prize nominee Laurence Made Me Cry will headline on the night alongside Cardiff-based singer-songwriters Jack Barnett and Ellie Makes Music.

We’re extremely grateful to organisers Rhi and Haley for thinking of Mind Cymru for this year’s event and we’re really excited to be involved.

Speaking about the event Haley said: “Rhi and I were overwhelmed by the success of Pipe Up last year, and it was a huge honour to be asked back to the Norwegian Church to curate a follow up gig for St David’s Day 2014.

“As someone who has experienced depression for several years, the fact we are raising money for Mind Cymru this time around is personally very important to me. There is still too much stigma around the subject and hopefully, the gig will play a small part in helping that to change.”

Jo Whitby from Laurence Made Me Cry, said: “I'm really excited to be playing Pipe Up this year. Mental illness has been a part of my life personally and via close friends and relatives so I'm very pleased to see that the chosen charity for the event is Mind Cymru. What a venue too! It's going to be a great night.”

Every single penny of the £10 ticket price will be donated to Mind Cymru.
