The Loose Women Lighten The Load Hero award honours someone who has gone to extraordinary lengths to be there for someone living a with a mental health problem.

This year's winner is Leeanne Tomlinson who was nominated by her colleague Susan Kirlew.

Susan has lived with depression and anxiety for over 17 years. Recently, a number of devastating family tragedies occurred including the death of her father and her eldest daughter giving birth to a full-term still-born baby. As a result Susan's mental health deteriorated.

It was Susan's colleague Leeanne who was her absolute rock during these incredibly difficult times. Although over 30 years younger than Susan, the two have formed a close friendship at work and Susan credits her with a wisdom and maturity beyond her years.

There were no grand gestures from Leeanne just lots of small things that helped lighten the load - chats, cups of tea, bunches of flowers. Daily caring and compassionate actions which gave Susan the hope and confidence that she needed during a difficult time.
