Aim:

Learn to offer effective support to students in mental or emotional distress.

Teaching and support staff who would like to gain a better understanding of mental health issues.

  • Promoting emotional wellbeing for all students
  • Developing provision for students’ mental health needs, maintaining and promoting mental health and well- being the ‘whole college/school’ approach
  • Supportive approaches and making adjustments, encouraging declaration and discussing learners’ needs
  • Identifying and responding to students’ concerns
  • Responding positively to challenging situations and communicating concerns effectively
  • Stigma and discrimination, a whole school/college approach
  • Enabling self-declaration, information sharing and confidentiality
  • Roles and boundaries

Course registration starts at 09:45am with the training starting promptly at 10:00am.
