All change in the APPG on Mental Health

Thursday, 15 August 2013 Mind

The All Party Parliamentary Group on Mental Health elects a new Chair and notes from this year's sessions on inequalities are available to download.

Members of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Mental Health (APPGMH) have elected James Morris MP as their new Chair.

He replaces Charles Walker MP who, in his time in charge, helped secure last year’s mental health debate in which he spoke about his own experience of living with OCD. He was also instrumental in convincing the government to support the Mental Health Discrimination (No.2) Act through parliament.

Labour’s Gloria De Piero MP and Liberal Democrat Paul Burstow MP have been elected as new Vice Chairs. From October the group will conduct a year-long enquiry in to how government can make parity of esteem a reality for people with mental health problems.

The notes from the sessions held between October 2012 and July 2013, looking at inequalities in mental health, are available to download from the APPGMH page of our website.
