Digital Stories
Digital stories are a great way of challenging stigma and breaking down barriers. Everyone has a story to tell.
Mind Cymru believes that people’s stories are a powerful way of challenging myths and stigma and ‘humanising’ mental health. Reading a paragraph about someone’s experiences can help us to understand the challenges they have faced but watching a film about it in their own voice, help us connect with them.
Digital stories can show how people overcome their issues, prove that we can recover from mental health problems and help us to realise that we are not alone in our experiences.
Making a digital story can be a cathartic process, helping people on their journey to recovery and also to develop self expression, confidence and self esteem. The people who feature in these digital stories had the opportunity to tell their story. We now have powerful and inspirations films which become a force for change by moving to a more positive perception of mental health.
