Philanthropy

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of all Mind’s donors, whose support helps us carry out our vital work.

With a major gift you could change someone’s life, by making sure we are there to talk to someone when their world is falling apart. You could even help change history, by helping us improve perceptions and treatment for the 1 in 4 people experiencing a mental health problem each year. Read more

Philanthropic individuals who are able to support Mind with a donation of £5,000 or more have the power to make a major impact.

There are lots of reasons why individuals and organisations choose to support Mind

Margaret and her husband David began supporting Mind three years ago, following the death of their daughter, Anna, who lived with anorexia and depression for many years.

“We wanted to help Mind address stigma, supporting an organisation that is an expert in all aspects of mental health. Mind fitted the criteria of being well-run and likely to use monies raised for the benefit of the greatest number of people. It has a good reputation. In a small way, we’re making a difference to the stigma associated with mental illness. It has helped our grief by openly committing to Mind.”

The Ellerdale Trust award grants to local charities in the UK, but have also been supporting Mind for 14 years.

“Although we normally only support local community charities in Norfolk, we feel it is vital to also support the work that Mind does nationally. We are moved and motivated to support Mind because of the national impact they have on stigma, raising awareness of mental health in general, and their ability to influence governmental policies and budgets. We believe this two-way communication is the way to make real and long lasting change happen. We are always impressed with the very clear vision of what Mind wants to accomplish.”

If you would like to make a significant donation and help us in our mission to provide support and respect to everyone experiencing a mental health problem, we'd really like to talk to you.

We will help connect you to the areas of our work which you feel most passionate about - whether that's investing in our vital information and advice services; backing our network of local Minds to deliver the best frontline support; or funding one of our important campaigns.

In return for your generous investment in Mind’s work, you will receive:

Personalised contact - One of our team will work with you directly, negotiating the level of contact you’re most comfortable with to make sure you always feel informed.

Consultation on where to direct your support - We’ll help you find a project or area of Mind’s work that really resonates with you, matched to your particular concerns and interests.

Regular updates - Reporting on what your gift is achieving – as well as general news about Mind and developments specific to the issues you care about – delivered in person, by phone, email or in writing.

The opportunity to attend Mind events or visit a project - A visit to a funded project can really help you see the impact of your support first hand. Our calendar of special events also offers opportunities through the year for you to learn more about Mind’s work, chat directly with our senior team, and connect with other like-minded supporters.
